Each group has a designated tutor who will be responsible for taking participants through various musical learning and rehearsal. Our experienced tutors are skilled at facilitating group learning; they all have exciting ideas for music-making and the exploration of new repertoire.

  • Beginner groups are aimed at those with no prior experience of learning a musical instrument before. Learning to read music will be part of the tuition. These groups are open to new MMC members and subject to sufficient numbers enrolling. New groups start in September. Some instruments may be available to borrow free of charge - do ask us by email or at our front desk on a Saturday morning if you are interested.
  • Elementary ensembles are aimed at those at about grades 0-2.
  • Intermediate ensembles grades 2-5.
  • Advanced ensembles grades 5+.

What to do next:

1 - Explore our guide to groups according to experience BeginnerElementary, Intermediate, Advanced or view all the groups.

2 - Check the timing of groups you are interested in.

3 - Visit our Registration Page to check fees and to register.

If you are unsure which ensemble to enrol for you can discuss it with our Musical Director or just come along and try them out. Please always register for any group you would like to try as the tutor will then know to expect you.
