For over 10 years Macclesfield Music Centre has provided music classes for Special Needs children.
The classes are run by a qualified music teacher with additional training in working with Special Needs children.
Classes focus on the widely varying needs of each child and ensure that all have a positive experience that enables them to gain self awareness and confidence through recognition and participation in music making. Each child creates sounds themselves, learns about dynamics, sound qualities, instrument recognition, pitch & duration.
There are also opportunities for the children to perform at concerts in both the Summer and Autumn Terms.
The classes are supportive and inclusive and are able to accommodate children with a range of disabilities. Carers and parents are most welcome.
Sessions are supported by BBC’s Children in Need and take place every Saturday morning during term time on Fence Avenue (using the King's Girls School premises).
