    Suitable for players Grades 6-8, led by an experienced orchestral professional this group will stretch and challenge participants with a diverse range of orchestral repertoire.

    Advanced Group

    Playing technique and musicality will form the focus of this string sectional. Suitable for players Grade 6-8. Participants will enjoy a diverse selection of string orchestra repertoire alongside delving into the detail of orchestral repertoire.

  • Adventurous Ukuleles

    Intermediate Group

    Suitable for those who already have experience of Ukulele or Guitar, participants will enjoy the popular repertoire carefully chosen and arranged by the group tutor. No grade required but you should know at least the chords in C major. Percussion and bass also welcome.

The material covered will prepare participants for a Grade 5 assessment in Music Theory.

  • Piano, Folk, Choral and Instrumental Specialist Sessions

    Advanced Group, Intermediate Group

    Throughout the academic year 2024-2025, alongside our regular Core Programme, Macclesfield Music Centre will host guest musicians to deliver specialist bespoke workshops. These will run from 11:00 – 12:45; guests will include pianists, folk musicians, instrumental specialists, and choral leaders. These specialist workshops are Open for MMC members and non-MMC members; those attending are asked to contribute an additional fee as the cost of these workshops is not covered by our central membership fund; this will be collected via an ‘honesty box’ system. The programme of workshops will be available on the website, and on social media platforms; advertised in advance.
